Since 2012 CDHA Consulting of Somerville Massachusetts has been specializing in providing code consulting and specification writing services to building owners, architects, developers, contractors and building officials.
Code Consulting
In the earliest stages of the project our scope of code consulting services includes: Review of existing building conditions, advisement regarding applicable codes and regulations, and identification of potential code compliance challenges. We collaborate with the design team to develop creative and cost effective solutions to those code compliance challenges.
At each stage of design we provide ongoing consultation and complete a review of the drawings. CDHA Consulting also prepares code compliance / egress plans illustrating the features of code compliance and a written Code Compliance Summary to be included in the drawing set when it is submitted with the permit applications.
Specification Writing
Our specification writing services include: Review of existing building conditions and materials to coordinate specifications with the existing building materials; advisement of product options available; assistance with product evaluations and selections; and preparation of specification drafts during each phase of design to facilitate the product selection process, and to document selections made.
